How to Be Accredited

International Recognition with ASCC Accreditation

Accreditation by ASCC USA enhances the credibility and trustworthiness of Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs), ensuring they meet globally recognized standards. If you are a Certification Body (CB), Inspection Body, Testing or Calibration Laboratory, or a Personal Certification Body, you can apply for ASCC accreditation to demonstrate compliance with international requirements.
How-to-Be-Accredited

Steps to Get Accredited by ASCC

Step 1: Review Accreditation Requirements

Before applying, review ASCC’s accreditation criteria based on relevant international standards, such as:

ISO/IEC 17021 – Accreditation for Management System Certification Bodies

ISO/IEC 17024 – Accreditation for Personal Certification Bodies

ISO/IEC 17020 – Accreditation for Inspection Bodies

ISO/IEC 17025 – Accreditation for Testing & Calibration Laboratories

ISO/IEC 17065 – Accreditation for Product Certification Bodies

Ensure your organization meets the technical competence, impartiality, and management system requirements outlined in these standards.

Step 2 : Submit an Application

Complete the ASCC Accreditation Application Form and provide the necessary documentation, including:

Legal registration details of your organization

Organizational structure and governance policies

Quality management system documentation

Procedures for certification, testing, or inspection activities

Our team will review your application for completeness and eligibility.

Step 3 : Document Review & Pre-Assessment

ASCC will conduct a thorough review of your management system documents to assess compliance with relevant standards. A pre-assessment may be performed to identify gaps before the official audit.

Step 4 : On-Site Accreditation Assessment

ASCC auditors will conduct an on-site assessment to evaluate:

Competency of personnel performing certification, testing, or inspection activities

Effectiveness of quality management systems

Impartiality and confidentiality policies

Compliance with international accreditation requirements

Any non-conformities identified during the assessment will require corrective action.

Step 5 : Accreditation Decision

Following a successful assessment, ASCC’s Accreditation Committee will review the findings and grant accreditation if all requirements are met. An ASCC Accreditation Certificate will be issued, recognizing your organization as an internationally accredited body.

Step 6 : Surveillance & Renewal Audits

To maintain accreditation, ASCC conducts regular surveillance audits to ensure continued compliance. Certification bodies must:

Maintain records of assessments and audits

Implement corrective actions for any identified issues

Demonstrate ongoing commitment to quality and impartiality

Accreditation is renewed periodically following a reassessment process.
